One man and his dog - Russia
27 January 2012 - It always takes a few days to get used to a new city. My new boss, the Russian manager of our office in Moscow, had welcomed new expats before, understood this and offered to pick me up at my hotel.
I gladly accepted his offer. I stood waiting in front of the hotel at the appointed time in the half-light of morning. It was cold and raining. Fortunately, I saw my boss’s car drive up, with what I thought was the manager sitting in the back and a driver behind the wheel. I quickly opened the door and got into the car. And who greeted me on the back seat? None other than my boss’s huge Alsatian dog! My boss, who was the one behind the wheel, bid me good morning and informed me that we were going to stop on the way to the office... at the vet’s for my fellow passenger.
