Global Connection / The RES Forum – forthcoming survey

We will soon send out invitations for a follow-up survey to our 2012 Expat Partner Support Effectiveness Survey.

Aims of the new survey

Our goal is to find out how much expat support is being utilised and how assigning companies rate the effectiveness of their support programmes. The results will prove especially interesting when compared with our 2012 ‘Key Findings’.

Only 37% funds used

Just over five years ago, we discovered that only 37 per cent of allocated funds for partner support had been used, which surprised us. Overall, partners at the time used 57 per cent of the support offered. Of those, partners used 65 per cent of the budget available to them.

Plans to increase ‘effectiveness’

At the time, when companies were asked to rate the effectiveness of their expat support programme on a scale from 1 to 10, the average score was 5.5. Almost 46 per cent of companies said that they had plans to increase the effectiveness of the support they provided. Some 30 per cent of participating companies provided a discretionary cash allowance to partners, while 42 per cent had some mandatory support.

So what’s changed?

Our latest survey will once again establish ‘Key Findings’ for our industry, giving us invaluable perspective. Please keep your eye out for an invitation to join the survey.

Joint survey

The RES Forum will again be our partner for executing the new survey. The RES Forum is currently the largest and most active network for International HR & Mobility professionals, and specialises in global mobility survey data, modelling and analytics.
