Salaries can vary widely from country to country. So how do you determine what you are worth? LinkedIn has launched a new feature to find out.
Simple search
LinkedIn Salary is a new portal that tracks and analyses job salaries, so you can see what people in a certain job typically make. Simply type in a job title and location, and then you can filter by company, industry, educational level and field of study. Right now, you can only search for salaries in the United States, UK and Canada, but there are plans to roll out the service globally very soon.
Free access
LinkedIn Salary is free. But only if you submit information about your own compensation every twelve months. LinkedIn needs this information in order to grow and maintain the salary database. It promises to encrypt your private details immediately to ensure they remain confidential. If you want to find out what others earn without sharing your own salary details, you need to subscribe to LinkedIn Premium. Or perhaps try other salary comparison sites such as GlassDoor or PayScale.
