More support for spouses requested

Additional coverage for spousal career assistance is the most commonly-heard request from employees due to be expatriated, according to a survey recently conducted by global relocator Cartus at the Worldwide ERC meeting in Las Vegas.

Spousal support top of the list

According to the survey, for which more than 150 human resource and relocation professionals working for worldwide companies were questioned, when it comes to benefits transferring employees are increasingly asking for extra support for their spouses. When asked “In which areas have you seen more requests for coverage?” spousal career support topped the list, followed by settling-in services, pets and elderly parents, in order of priority.

Most demanding demographic group

In the same survey HR and relocation professionals were asked which demographic group they find the most demanding. Generation X (people born between 1960 and 1980) easily topped that list, followed by Millennials (born after 1980) and then Baby Boomers.
